In the hands, two symbols,

The Dorje, Vajra, "Lightning-Diamond"

In the tibetan buddhism vajrayana, it is the symbol of  the indestructible power and unchanging nature of mindfulness. Made of brass, held in the right hand, it represents the active and male sides.

The bell of brass, held in the left hand symbolizes the receptive, and feminine sides. Transcendental wisdom leading to the knowledge of vacuity.

Both symbols held in front of the chest, crossed, they mean Passivity and Activity reaching the perfection in the union. Union of wisdom and the means which lead to libération, ultimate wisdom.

Concert given by Gyutö Monks, October 2017 in Billère, Aquitaine, Pau region, in relation with Apact Association.
